Crane Inspection Services

RCS International offers professional and comprehensive Crane Inspection Services designed to ensure that all fixed lifting equipment and cranes are safe, reliable, and compliant with international standards and local regulations. Our inspections are conducted by qualified and certified third-party inspectors in accordance with BS 7121 series, ISO 9927-1, LOLER, and Local regulatory authority requirements.

Our scope covers all types of fixed and stationary cranes including:

  1. Tower Cranes – both hammerhead and luffing jib types used in high-rise construction for lifting heavy loads at great heights.
  2. Overhead Travelling Cranes (Bridge Cranes) – single or double-girder cranes used in industrial plants and workshops for material handling.
  3. Gantry Cranes (Portal Cranes) – rail-mounted or free-standing cranes used in shipyards, factories, and warehouses for out door and indoor lifting operations.
  4. Semi-Gantry Cranes – cranes with one end running on a rail and the other supported by a runway beam or wall-mounted track.
  5. Jib Cranes – wall-mounted or pillar-mounted cranes used for localized lifting in workshops and maintenance areas.
  6. Monorail Cranes and Hoist Systems – used for linear material movement along a fixed track or runway beam.
  7. Wall Travelling Cranes – cranes mounted on a wall or elevated track for efficient space utilization in production areas.

Our inspection process includes:

  • Visual and Structural Examination of crane structures, girders, booms, welds, connections, and fasteners for signs of wear, cracks, or deformation.
  • Functional and Operational Testing of hoisting, trolley, and slewing mechanisms to ensure proper performance and smooth operation.
  • Inspection of Electrical, Hydraulic, and Control Systems, including limit switches, emergency stop functions, and interlocks.
  • Verification of Safety and Overload Protection Devices, such as load limiters, anti-collision systems, brakes, and emergency lowering systems.
  • Load Testing (static and dynamic) to confirm the crane’s safe working load (SWL) and performance under load conditions.
  • Review of Maintenance and Service Records to ensure compliance with manufacturer and legal requirements.
  • Issuance of a Detailed Inspection Report and Certificate, including test results, compliance findings, and recommendations
